Harrison paces Roadrunners on day one of All-American Intercollegiate

HUMBLE, Texas — David Harrison is in the top 60 individuals and the UTSA men's golf team is in 17th place through 36 holes of the All-American Intercollegiate, which teed off Monday at the Golf Club of Houston's Tournament Course (par 72/7,067 yards).
 
Harrison is tied for 57th with a 6-over-par 150, while the Roadrunners recorded rounds of 297 and 308 on the opening day of the 54-hole tournament.
 
A senior from Byron Nelson High School near Fort Worth, Harrison opened with a 4-over 76 that was highlighted by a birdie on the 300-yard, par-4 12th hole. He posted a two-shot improvement in the afternoon with a 2-over 74 that featured back-to-back birdies on Nos. 17-18. 
 
Meanwhile, Patrick Kahanek has grabbed a share of 10th place through two rounds of the All-American Individual played at the Golf Club of Houston's Members Course (par 72/7,508 yards).
 
Kahanek, a sophomore from San Antonio, registered three birdies en route to a 77 in the opening round of the individual event before circling his number on five holes as part of a 1-under 71 in the afternoon. He is tied with ULM's Their Poulsen at 4-over 148 with 18 holes left to play on Tuesday.
 
Back in the team event, Hunter Bott and Christian Fanfelle are part of a seven-way tie for 65th at 7-over 151. 
 
Bott, a senior from Montgomery, shot 75 on the strength of 15 pars in the first round before using four birdies on the back nine to log a 76 on his second scorecard of the day.
 
Fanfelle, a super senior from San Antonio, turned in UTSA's top round of the day in the morning with an even-par 72 that was headlined by five birdies before settling for a 79 in the afternoon.
 
Jack Wehman and Brayden Bare round out the UTSA lineup in 81st (74-79—153) and 95th (79-79—158), respectively.
 
No. 36 Louisville leads the team standings at 10-under par, followed by No. 17 Kansas State, 29th-ranked Ole Miss and No. 14 Tennessee in a tie for second at 2-under.
 
Carson Gallaher also is playing in the All-American Individual and is tied for 28th (76-84—160).
 
The final round of both tournaments will get underway with an 8 a.m. shotgun start on Tuesday
