Holzmann honored with C-USA Golfer of the Week award

DALLAS — UTSA junior Hannah Holzmann has been named Conference USA Women's Golfer of the Week for her performance in the Texas State Invitational, the league office announced Thursday.

Holzmann finished third with a career-best scorecard to help the Roadrunners to a runner-up finish at the Texas State Invitational on Feb. 8-9 in Kyle, Texas. The San Antonio native carded a career-best 8-under-par 208 on the par-72, 6,249-yard Plum Creek Golf Course layout to notch her fourth career top 10, three of which have occurred in her last five tournaments dating back to last spring. After recording a pair of 2-under 70s through the first 36 holes, she fired a 4-under 68 to match her best round as a Roadrunner.

Holzmann's final-round score is tied for the fifth-lowest round in UTSA history and her 208, which is a five-shot improvement from her previous best posted in winning this same tournament a year ago, equals the fifth-lowest 54-hole total in program annals.

This marks the second career C-USA Golfer of the Week award for Holzmann and the second straight week a Roadrunner has been honored, as Camryn Carreon was tabbed C-USA co-Golfer of the Week on Feb. 4.

The Roadrunners will return to action next Monday-Tuesday, Feb. 15-16, when they travel to Las Vegas for the Rebel Beach.
