Men's golf to compete in Bayou City Collegiate Classic

SAN ANTONIO — The UTSA men's golf team will make the short trip to Pearland to compete in the Bayou City Collegiate Classic, which will be held on Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 9-10, at Golfcrest Country Club (par 72/7,254 yards).
 
The Roadrunners will face off against Abilene Christian, Arkansas State, Houston, Houston Baptist, Lamar, Lipscomb, Little Rock, Nebraska, Rice, Sam Houston State, SMU, Southern Miss, Texas State and UT Arlington. The teams will play 36 holes on Monday and the final round is slated for Tuesday. Live scoring will be provided at http://results.golfstat.com/public/leaderboards/gsnav.cfm?pg=team&tid=13488.
 
UTSA has registered back-to-back fourth-place finishes to start the fall season. Zander Lozano tied for ninth place with a 2-under-par 214 for his 12th career top 10 to lead the Birds in their last outing at the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate on Sept. 18-19 in Choudrant, La. The senior all-conference performer fired a career-best 65 in the opening round, his school-record 18th career sub-70 round.
 
The Roadrunners finished eighth behind a 16th-place effort from Bryce Alley at last year's Bayou City Collegiate Classic.
