Junior James Keithley extended his hitting streak to 17 games before the rain came in Friday night.

HAMMOND, La. ? Friday's Southland Conference game at Alumni Field between UTSA and Southeastern Louisiana was suspended due to rain with the Roadrunners leading 2-0 in the bottom of the second inning. The contest will resume at 1 p.m. on Saturday with the Lions hitting with no one on and nobody out. Saturday's originally scheduled tilt will be played 30 minutes after the completion of the suspended game.

UTSA scored its two runs in the first of Southeastern Louisiana starter Wade Miley. Junior shortstop James Keithley singled to lead off the contest and that extend his season-long hitting streak to 17 games. After Keithley moved up to second on a balk, sophomore designated hitter Tim Palincsar followed with an RBI double to left-center. Palincsar, who moved up to third on a wild pitch, crossed the plate four batters later on freshman right fielder Tyler Carpenter's ground out to second base.

Roadrunners right-hander Steven Vasquen then retired the side in the bottom half of the frame on just nine pitches. Miley settled down in the second before the rain rolled in.
