SAN ANTONIO – It was a year for the history books.
UTSA Athletics, in its second year as a member of the American Athletic Conference, has continued its impressive trajectory, as evidenced by success in competition and the classroom, record-breaking attendance and ticket-sales figures, and impressive brand and media metrics.
UTSA’s women’s basketball and baseball teams set school records for total victories, won American Athletic Conference regular-season titles and set single-game attendance records. The volleyball and women’s basketball teams set school single-season attendance records. The Roadrunners’ baseball team advanced to its first-ever NCAA Super Regional, finishing tied for ninth nationally, marking the first top-10 national finish in any sport in UTSA history.
A breakdown of many of the year’s notable accomplishments is below:
Academics
- UTSA recorded an NCAA Division I Graduation Success Rate (GSR) of 90 percent, marking a departmental record. It was the 10th consecutive year that the department has posted a GSR of 80 percent or better. The 90 percent GSR eclipses the previous record of 89 percent reported last year.
- A total of 12 UTSA sports programs logged a GSR of 80 percent or better in the latest report, including three teams (men’s golf, women’s tennis and volleyball) all charting a 100 percent GSR.
- UTSA Athletics achieved a 980 Academic Progress Rate for the department. Eight teams posted a perfect 1,000 APR for the 2023-24 academic year, while men’s golf and women’s tennis logged a 1,000 multi-year APR.
- UTSA teams have achieved 25 single-year APR rates of 1,000 over the past three years combined.

Attendance / Ticket Sales
Baseball
- UTSA’s 92.6 percent winning percentage (25-2) at home this season marked a program record.
- UTSA welcomed an all-time single-game Roadrunner Field school record 1,457 fans to their March 25 game against Texas State.
- The Roadrunners averaged nearly 50 group tickets per game, marking a new school record average for group sales. It was the second-most group tickets sold all-time, next to the 2019 season.
- UTSA posted four games with an attendance of better than 900 fans, marking the first time that has been achieved in program history.
- UTSA’s season-ticket sales totals over the past three years are the best three years of season-ticket sales in the program’s history.
- Over 27 home games, the Roadrunners averaged a stadium capacity percentage of 84.3, a figure that ranked 22nd nationally.
- UTSA set a school record for baseball ticket revenue during the 2025 season.
Men’s Basketball
- UTSA men’s basketball season-ticket sales remained even despite two fewer home games from the previous year. Season-ticket sales in the last two campaigns are the highest for the Roadrunners since the 2019-20 season.
- Since the conclusion of the 2022-23 season, average student attendance at UTSA men’s basketball games has increased 20 percent.
Women’s Basketball
- UTSA women’s basketball posted a perfect 13-0 record at home during the 2024-25 campaign and has won 16 consecutive home games dating back to 2024.
- UTSA set a new single-game attendance record of 2,250 fans in the season finale against Florida Atlantic on March 1. It shattered the previous record of 2,000 attendees set in 1991. The Roadrunners hosted seven games with an attendance of better than 1,000 fans this past season.
- A school-record 15,372 fans passed through the turnstiles during the 2024-25 campaign. UTSA also set a school record for average attendance at 1,152.
- The number of single-game tickets purchased in 2024-25 was an 81.3 percent increase from the previous season.
- UTSA set a school record for average student attendance in 2024-25. Since the conclusion of the 2022-23 season, average student attendance at women’s basketball games has increased 202 percent.
- UTSA set a school record for women’s basketball ticket revenue during the 2025 season.
Football
- The Roadrunners sold 10,035 season tickets in 2024, marking the most season tickets sold since the 2015 campaign.
- At the 2024 season opener, UTSA welcomed its two-millionth all-time fan, Angela Garza, through the doors at the Alamodome. The total all-time attendance for UTSA Football, which began in 2011, stands at 2,114,786.
- UTSA has tied its school record with 10 consecutive victories at home entering the 2025 campaign. The Roadrunners were 6-0 in the Alamodome during the 2024 season, making head coach Jeff Traylor 29-3 (.906) all-time at home in five seasons leading the program.
- UTSA honored San Antonio’s Hometown Heroes in 2024, including Educators, First Responders, Healthcare, Local Businesses, Armed Forces & Veterans and Essential Workers.
Soccer
- For the second consecutive season, UTSA led the American Athletic Conference in average attendance. The Roadrunners also ranked second in the AAC in total attendance.
- The Roadrunners totaled the third-most fans in program history with 6,137 fans attending home matches during the 2024 season. UTSA has recorded two of the top-three all-time season attendance marks in the past two years.
- UTSA welcomed 1,268 fans to its match against Tulsa, marking the second-most attended match in the history of Park West.
- To celebrate soccer in the San Antonio community, the Roadrunners played UIW at Toyota Field, home of the USL’s San Antonio FC, with 1,459 fans attending.
Softball
- UTSA set a school record for season tickets sold in 2025. All 48 of the reserved chairback seats that were installed prior to the 2024 season sold out for the second consecutive year.
- Since the conclusion of the 2023 season, season-ticket sales for UTSA Softball have increased 204 percent.
- The Roadrunners’ opening-day attendance of 352 fans was its highest attendance in more than three seasons.
- Eight of UTSA’s 31 home games were full sellouts.
- The Roadrunners finished the year ranked No. 81 in the nation in average attendance and fifth in the American Athletic Conference. UTSA had the highest attendance in NCAA Division I in 2025 for a stadium of its size.
- Over 31 home games, the Roadrunners averaged a stadium capacity percentage of 83.6.
- UTSA softball welcomed its most total student spectators in a single season in program history during the 2025 campaign.
- UTSA set a school record for softball ticket revenue during the 2025 season.
Volleyball
- The Roadrunners set a school record for total attendance for the second consecutive season with 13,794 fans passing through the turnstiles during the 2024 campaign.
- UTSA ranked second in the American Athletic Conference in total attendance behind Wichita State, which also hosted the AAC Tournament. The Roadrunners ranked top 70 in the nation in attendance.
- UTSA welcomed 1,000 or more fans to the Convo in five single matches this season. The Roadrunners’ crowd of 1,246 against Texas State marked the largest home audience since 2017.
- UTSA volleyball season ticket sales increased 31 percent for the 2024 season, setting a school record for season tickets sold for the second consecutive year.
- For the first time in school history, UTSA offered courtside seating options at volleyball matches.
- For the second consecutive year, UTSA volleyball recorded a sellout crowd for its spring match against Texas, welcoming 2,482 fans to the Convocation Center for the 2025 edition of the contest.
- UTSA set a school record for volleyball ticket revenue during the 2025 season.
Earned Media
- In the 2024-25 academic year, UTSA Athletics generated 7,588 earned media mentions with an audience of 5.7 billion.
- The advertising equivalency value of those mentions equated to $152.9 million.
Fan Communications
- During the 2024-25 academic year, a combined total of 9.26 marketing/ticketing emails were sent to fanbase recipients, up 86.4 percent from the 4.96 million combined marketing/ticketing emails sent in 2023-24.
- The average email open rate on all marketing/ticketing emails combined over the past year was 50.4 percent. This is an increase from last year’s open rate of 48.9 percent.
- UTSA Athletics told more than 100 full-length student-athlete and coach feature stories on com and the @RowdyCreative YouTube channel.
- UTSA Athletics is in its second year of a partnership with Sport & Story to create the thrice-weekly Brew-1-0 email newsletter.
- The Brew-1-0 has had an average audience of more than 41,000 recipients over the course of the year.
- The Brew-1-0 is part of a conglomerate of more than two dozen daily fan newsletters for athletics departments across the country. The Brew won the Best Newsletter honor at the 2025 Digiday Media Awards.
Name, Image and Likeness
- UTSA Athletics launched a One-Stop Support website that outlines all the different ways Roadrunners’ supporters can give based on their interests.
- UTSA Athletics announced a partnership with Playfly Max as a revenue solution designed for the revenue sharing landscape for student-athletes. This ensures UTSA Athletics remains competitive while maximizing revenue opportunities.
- UTSA Athletics partnered with Ascend to launch the Runners United subscription program, which allows supporters to contribute directly to student-athletes at all levels of financial commitment.
Roadrunner Athletic Fund
- UTSA Athletics launched the McCombs Society, its official leadership giving society, to support Roadrunners student-athletes. The McCombs Family pledged an initial gift of $100,000 to the Bold Champions campaign as part of the creation of the McCombs Society. Roadrunner Athletic Fund members can join the McCombs Society with a minimum pledge of $25,000 over a five-year period or by contributing an annual cash gift of $25,000 or more.
- UTSA Athletics celebrated a record Giving Day in 2025, generating more than $415,000.
- The second class of the UTSA Athletics Hall of Fame was inducted in October 2025. The class included Derrick Gervin (men’s basketball), Monica Gibbs (women’s basketball), Michael Rockett (baseball), Starlite Williams (women’s basketball, track & field) and Teddy Williams (men’s track & field).

- During the 2024-25 academic year, the UTSA Athletics X account generated 1.7 million impressions with a 3.3 percent engagement rate. The total audience grew by 5.4 percent to 29,015.
- During the 2024-25 academic year, the UTSA Athletics Facebook account generated 3.6 million impressions, up 4 percent from the 2023-24 year with a 4.2 percent engagement rate.
Link clicks to GoUTSA.com from the UTSA Athletics Facebook account increased by 87.9 percent from the previous year.
- The total audience grew 1.6 percent to 40,797 and had a net audience growth of 21.7 percent.
- During the 2024-25 academic year, the UTSA Athletics Instagram account generated 2.3 million views. Its reach increased 55.6 percent from the previous year and link clicks generated from Instagram increased 384.5 percent.
- The UTSA Athletics Instagram account grew by 6,135 followers over the past year, a 33.1 percent increase.
- The reach of UTSA Athletics Instagram stories grew by 642 percent.
- During the 2024-25 academic year, the UTSA Athletics YouTube page generated 163,900 views, 2,900 hours of watch time and increased subscribers by 427.
- This was an increase of 167.2 percent in views compared to the previous year.

- The total impressions across all UTSA Baseball social media accounts combined during the 2024-25 academic year were 20.7 million.
- During the 2024-25 academic year, the UTSA Baseball X account generated 7.3 million impressions, up 90.4 percent from the 2023-24 season, with a 4.5 percent engagement rate. Engagements were up 94.5 percent from 2023-24 and link clicks improved 21.8 percent.
- The baseball X account grew by 15.1 percent to 23,201 followers and saw a net follower growth of 196.4 percent.
- The baseball X account garnered 694,004 video views during the 2024-25 year, an increase of 87.1 percent.
- During the 2024-25 academic year, the UTSA Baseball Instagram account generated 10.8 million views with a reach of 1 million, which was a 179.7 percent increase from the 2023-24 year.
- The baseball Instagram account added 7,584 followers this year for a total following of 16,700, an increase of 83.2 percent.
- During the 2024-25 academic year, the baseball Instagram account garnered 2.6 million views.
- Content interactions for the UTSA Baseball Facebook account increased 213.6 percent and link clicks increased 442.7 percent as compared to 2023-24.
- The baseball Facebook account grew by 3,504 followers, to increase its audience by 246.6 percent this year.
Social Media – Men’s Basketball
- During the 2024-25 academic year, the UTSA Men’s Basketball X account generated 846,656 impressions with a 3.3 percent engagement rate, up from 2.8 percent during the 2023-24 year.
- The men’s basketball Twitter X grew to 11,061 followers, up 3.5 percent from the previous year. The net audience growth improved by 30.2 percent.
- During the 2024-25 academic year, the UTSA Men’s Basketball Instagram account generated 2.1 million impressions. Its reach expanded 157.1 percent and its link clicks increased 182.6 percent.
Social Media – Women’s Basketball
- During the 2024-25 academic year, the UTSA Women’s Basketball X account generated 1.6 million impressions (up 1.7 percent) with an engagement rate of 3.5 percent, up from 3 percent in 2023-24.
- The women’s basketball X account grew by 9.8 percent up to 7,377 followers.
- During the 2024-25 academic year, the UTSA Women’s Basketball Instagram account generated 2.15 million impressions.
- The reach of the women’s basketball Instagram account was up 178.8 percent to 446,145.
- The women’s basketball Instagram account grew by 47 percent over the past year.
Social Media - Football
- The total impressions across all UTSA Football social media accounts combined during the 2024-25 academic year were 14.1 million.
- During the 2024-25 academic year, the UTSA Football X accountgenerated 11.1 million impressions, with a 3.3 percent engagement rate. Engagements were up 39.5 percent from 2023-24.
- The football X account experienced 371,255 engagements and 120,344 likes in 2024-25.
- The football X account added 12,309 new followers in 2024-25, a 10.4-percent increase from the previous year, and now sits at 108,188 followers.
- The football X account garnered 669,756 video views during the 2024-25 year.
- During the 2024-25 academic year, the UTSA Football Instagram account generated a reach of 1.8 million and 294,178 interactions.
- The football Instagram account added 8,108 followers this year for a total following of 39,741, an increase of 25.6 percent.

- During the 2024-25 academic year, the UTSA Softball X account generated 796,462 impressions with a 4.6 percent engagement rate, up from 4.1 percent during the 2023-24 year.
- The softball X audience grew by 7.8 percent up to 13,341 total followers.
- During the 2024-25 academic year, the UTSA Softball Facebook account had 187,400 engagements, an increase of 39.1 percent from the previous year.
- Facebook link clicks increased 93.4 percent from a year ago.
- The softball Facebook account grew by 38.6 percent, gaining 15,271 followers over the past year. The net follower growth was a 40.2 percent increase from the previous year.
