Roadrunners come up short to Rams

TEMPE, Ariz. – The UTSA women's basketball team came up short to Colorado State 52-48 in a battle on Sunday afternoon.
 
The game opened with both teams slowly finding the basket through the first quarter until the Roadrunners hit a 9-0 run to lead 16-9 with 2:59 remaining. The Rams closed the gap to two (16-14) as UTSA led at the end of the first.
 
In the second, both teams struggled to find the basket as Colorado State outscored UTSA 9-7 to tie the game 23-23 at the break.
 
Coming out of the locker room, the Roadrunners opened with a 7-1 run to lead 30-24 at the 7:04 mark. CSU then hit a 5-0 run to bridge the gap to one (30-29). In the final four minutes, the Rams went on a 7-5 run to take the lead 36-35.
 
In the fourth, UTSA gained momentum and hit a 9-0 run to lead 44-38 with 7:26 remaining. Colorado then retallied and finished the game on a 12-2 run to clinch the game.
 
The Roadrunners return to action on Dec. 13 when they host Dartmouth.
