SAN ANTONIO – UTSA will return to the road this weekend for a pair of matches in Tennessee. The Roadrunners will play Belmont in Nashville at 12 p.m. Saturday before traveling to Murfreesboro at 12 p.m. the next day to face Middle Tennessee.
UTSA (0-2) is coming off back-to-back losses to ranked teams to open its spring campaign. The Roadrunners suffered a 4-2 setback to No. 24 Texas Tech in the season opener on Jan. 15, and dropped a 7-0 decision at eighth-ranked Texas four days later.
SCOUTING BELMONT
The Bruins (0-3) have dropped all three of their contests in the dual-match season. Belmont lost at Tennessee, 6-1, in the season opener on Jan. 15. The Bruins also lost at IUPUI, 4-3, on Jan. 20, and at Ball State, 5-2, a day later.
LAST MEETING WITH THE BRUINS
UTSA and Belmont have not met since March 13, 2005. The Roadrunners escaped Nashville with a 4-3 victory.
SCOUTING MIDDLE TENNESSEE
The Blue Raiders (4-1) has won back-to-back tilts, including a 7-0 victory against Alabama State on Sunday. Middle Tennessee also owns sweeps against Austin Peay (Jan. 15) and Chattanooga (Jan. 15), and a 5-2 win against UAB (Jan. 21). The Blue Raiders' only loss was a 4-3 setback at Vanderbilt on Jan. 19.
LAST MEETING WITH THE BLUE RAIDERS
The two squads last met on April 9, 2016 in San Antonio. Middle Tennessee posted a 4-0 victory, collecting one point in doubles play and the other three in singles action.
