UTSA women win 4x1 on Friday at Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays

AUSTIN, Texas — The UTSA women won the 4x100-meter relay to highlight Friday action for the Roadrunners at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays at Mike A. Myers Stadium.

Assigned to the third of four heats in the timed final, Ibiso David-West, Geraldy Barron, Thennelle Williams and Lauren Roy teamed up to clock a time of 46.24 seconds, crossing first in their section ahead of Lamar's 47.07. Having to wait on the final heat's results, UTSA held on for the victory in the 30-team field after Auburn finished with a 46.45 with Iowa State close behind in 46.50.

Alanah Yukich logged a seventh-place finish in the top division of the women's 400m hurdles. Racing in lane three in the nine-person final, the Australian circled the oval in 58.02 to cross ahead of Oklahoma's Ashonti Warner (58.73) and Colorado's Abbey Glynn (58.85). Yukich, the reigning Conference USA champion who advanced to today's final after clocking 58.56 to win her preliminary heat on Thursday, ended up just behind the Iowa duo of Paige Magee and Mariel Bruxvoort (57.91) in the race won by LSU's Shani'a Bellamy (55.96).

Back in the women's sprints, Roy and Williams also raced in the 100m timed final. Roy, a sophomore transfer from Northern Ireland, clocked an 11.66 for 11th place and Williams, a sophomore from Jamaica, was 25th in 11.76.

Meanwhile, Barron and David-West joined Marie Duvigneau and Mackenzie Grimes in the 4x400m relay to post a 3:51.40, placing 12th.

The men's 4x100m relay squad of Brice Chabot, Antony Ma, Trevion McCalla and Dennis Phillips passed the baton to a season-best time of 39.75, their second race under 40 seconds this year. That time was good for third in their heat and 11th overall, as they just missed advancing to Saturday's nine-team final.

That foursome also raced in the 100m timed final, with Phillips clocking a 10.35 for 12th to pace the group. McCalla stopped the clock at 10.49 for 31st, while Chabot and Ma finished 53rd (10.59) and 59th (10.60), respectively.

Later in the day, the men's 4x400m relay quartet of Noah Rhodes, Mike Roth, Logan Masters and Phillips registered a time of 3:14.23 to place seventh in the timed final.

All-American and UTSA record holder Bashiru Abdullahi clocked a wind-illegal time of 13.56 in the 110m hurdles, good for third in his heat and 12th overall.

In the field, All-American Jemuel Milller posted a top-10 finish in the top division of the men's triple jump. The sophomore from Barbados touched the sand at a season-best distance of 16.08 meters (52-9.25) on his second attempt of the afternoon to end up in 10th overall and eighth among collegians.

Gabriel Binion locked in a top-five showing in the second division of the men's triple jump. The junior transfer registered a measurement of 15.35m (50-4.5) on his fourth and final trip down the runway to tie Jakari Lomax of Youngstown State for fourth place. He also finished 10th in the B section of the men's long jump with a leap of 7.42m (24-4.25).

On the women's side, All-American Oreoluwa Adamson skipped to a 19th-place mark of 12.27m (40-3.25) in the triple jump.
