Roadrunners to compete in ITA Texas Regionals

SAN ANTONIO – Eight Roadrunner student-athletes will begin competition in Waco, Texas, this week as part of the ITA Texas Regionals which run from Oct. 13-17.
 
Tomás Pinho, Garrett Skelly, Danijal Muminovic, Miguel Alonso and Andrew Keene start their regional action in the qualification round beginning Thursday. Alan Magadan, Sebastian Rodriguez and Tiago Torres will start in the main draw which kicks off Friday morning.
 
UTSA's eight athletes will all compete in the singles draw as well as the doubles draw. UTSA will send forth the following pairings:
Magadan/Rodriguez
Keene/Skelly
Pinho/Torres
Alonso/Muminovic
 
UTSA's eight student-athletes are part of a total playing field of 105 that will compete for championships this weekend. Match times and matchups have yet to be determined.
 
Over 8,000 student-athletes from NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA, Junior and Community Colleges compete across 85 ITA Regional Championships around the country. In Division I, regional doubles champions and regional singles champions and finalists qualify for the season-ending ITA National Fall Championships.

Following the ITA Texas Regionals, UTSA will have student-athletes participating in the Rice Fall Challenge. The Rice Fall Challenge will be held in Houston at the Rice campus across the Oct. 28 weekend.
