UTSA to host No. 7 Texas State on Tuesday

SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA is set to host fellow Interstate-35 institution Texas State on Tuesday night. The game comes one week after the Roadrunners visited San Marcos and dropped their second midweek game of the year to the Bobcats.
 
UTSA (27-13, 12-6 C-USA) goes into the midweek matchup with a 7-2 record in midweek games. The Tuesday tilt with No. 7 Texas State features two teams with solid RPI on the year. Texas State enters the game with a 47 RPI while UTSA enters the matchup with a 58 RPI.
 
The Roadrunners enter the midweek game coming off of a sweep of the FIU Panthers. UTSA won its fourth consecutive league series after downing FIU. UTSA's home record improved to 15-3 following the weekend sweep. UTSA outscored the Panthers 29-13 over the three-game series, earning a 12-4 win in the opener, an 8-1 win in the middle game and a 9-8 comeback win in Sunday's contest.
 
The Bobcats (32-9, 15-3 Sun Belt) enter the weekday matchup riding a nine-game win streak. The win streak includes back-to-back undefeated weeks from Texas State. The Bobcats earned their wins by sweeping Arkansas Little Rock, defeating the Roadrunners, sweeping UT Arlington and downing Baylor. The streak started when Texas State took game three over Georgia Southern on April 10. In their latest series, the Bobcats outscored Arkansas Little Rock 42-8 which included a game where they won 30-4.
 
This will be the 99th all-time meeting between the two colleges which are separated by less than an hour. Texas State owns the all-time record over UTSA, holding a 61-37 record over the Roadrunners. UTSA is 21-27 in games played in San Antonio.
