DMR win headlines Saturday action at Houston G5 & Super 22 Invitational

HOUSTON — Chante Dixon, Maddy Blair, Brooke Lomax and Maddie Boswell teamed up to win the women's distance medley relay to headline UTSA action on Saturday at the Houston G5 & Super 22 Invitational at Yeoman Fieldhouse.

Dixon, Blair, Lomax and Boswell passed the baton to a time of 12:17.10 to secure the third gold medal of the meet for the Roadrunners. With UTSA trailing Houston on the final leg, Boswell came from 100 meters behind to overtake Madeline Castleberry and give the Roadrunners the win ahead of the Cougars' time of 12:17.71.

Meanwhile, Oreoluwa Adamson logged her second podium finish of the weekend with a runner-up finish in the triple jump. The London, England, native skipped to a mark of 12.30 meters (40-4.25), the best indoor measurement of her UTSA career, to secure silver. After opening with a 12.09m effort, Adamson posted her top jump of the day on her second try. Friday's long jump champion held the lead until the sixth and final round when Houston's Destiny Lawrence registered a 12.51m, as Adamson matched her top mark of the afternoon on her last jump but was unable to move past Lawrence.

On the track for the men, Diego Pettorossi sped to a time of 21.54 seconds to finish third in the 200 meters, while the men's DMR quartet of Michael Paredes, Daniel Morales, Victor Charo, and JD Corona took fourth place with a 10:26.94 clocking.

In the field, Lacee Barnes posted a mark of 14.16m (46-5.5) to earn a sixth-place finish in the women's shot put, while Paul Bouey measured 15.38m (50-5.5) for seventh in the men's shot put.

On Friday, Adamson and Sam Healy swept the long jump competitions. Adamson took top honors for the women with a season-best mark of 5.82m (19-1.25), while Healy stayed undefeated with an indoor personal-best leap of 7.60m (24-11.25).

The Roadrunners will be back in action next Friday-Saturday, Feb. 4-5, when they travel to College Station for the Charlie Thomas Invitational.
