Half-dozen Roadrunners to race in NCAA South Central Regional

SAN ANTONIO — Six members of the UTSA cross country teams will race in the NCAA South Central Regional on Friday, Nov. 12, at Cottonwood Creek Golf Course in Waco, Texas.
 
Hosted by Baylor, the women's 6k is set to start at 10 a.m. followed with the men's 10k at 11 a.m. Admission is free.
 
The six Roadrunners competing will be Maddie Boswell and Lily Morrill for the women and JD Corona, Hunter Haynes, Luke Lawhorn and Idol Ramon for the men. 
 
Boswell earned second-team all-conference honors with her performance in the C-USA Cross Country Championships two weeks ago. The Fort Worth native ran the 6k in a time of 21:34.6, making it the third straight meet as UTSA's top finisher. Morrill placed 71st in the 6k at the league as she clocked a 24:06.3. 
 
For the men in the C-USA Championship, Lawhorn placed 52nd with a time of 26:46.8. Ramon placed 57th in 26:58.4, Haynes crossed the line in 61st (27:06.2) and Corona came in 62nd (27:08.5).
