Roadrunners head west to Stanford Invitational

SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA men's and women's cross country teams continue their seasons on Saturday, Sept. 29 at the Stanford Invitational.
 
The event
The 44th annual Stanford Invitational will be contested at the Stanford Golf Course with the women competing in a 6,000-meter race at 11:50 a.m. CT, followed by the men running an 8,000-meter distance at 12:30 p.m. CT.
 
The competition
UTSA joins 19 other universities in the competition, including Pac-12 members Arizona State, Colorado, Stanford, UCLA and Washington.
 
Representing the Roadrunners
Seven men and seven women will represent UTSA at the meet. The men's lineup features senior Luca Chatham along with juniors Martin Luevano and Peter Sepulveda; sophomores Matthew David, Zack Kovar and Josh Rodriquez; and freshman Jake Smith. All seven competed in the season-opening Aggie Opener back on Aug. 31.  
 
The Roadrunner women will field a more veteran lineup led by senior Charlette Janicek along with juniors Olivia Flores, Colleen Gilbert, Gabby Gonzales and Marissa Martinez. Freshmen Abby Balli and Briana Gonzalez will make their second career starts.
