Men's tennis to wrap up fall season at Ron Wesbrooks Invitational

SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA men's tennis team is set to play this weekend at the Ron Wesbrooks Invitational. The tournament will take place Friday-Sunday at the Thompson Family Tennis Center in Beaumont.

A quartet of Roadrunners will play in the event – Igor Cantanhede, Christian Carillo, Leon Hein and Patrick Poestinger. There will be single and double draws at the tournament.

Carillo and Poestinger will team up to face the duo of Mayr and Schweizer from Lamar in Flight One. The match is set for 2 p.m. Friday.

The team of Cantanhede and Hein will square off with Reyna and Suico at 2 p.m. in Flight Two.

In singles play, Poestinger is facing Alex Parker from Tyler JC in Flight One. Flight Two consists of Carillo going up against Alejandro Hayden from Tyler JC.

Cantanhede is placed in Flight Three and matching up first against Carlos Paton from Lamar. Hein is in Flight Four and will face Ben Hackney in his first match.

The team had a strong outing at the ITA Texas Regional Championships that took place in College Station two weeks ago.
