Baseball/Softball Game-Day Stadium Policies

Baseball/Softball Game-Day Stadium Policies

UTSA Police has notified the athletics department with concerns about some of the activities at baseball games. The primary concerns they had pertained to alcohol and grilling and how those activities fit within university rules and TABC laws.

We were asked to place better signage and validation of rules that have been in place for some time. Because of these concerns, we responded immediately with new and more prominent signage. We then initiated a meeting with university officials and Aramark, which operates our concessions, to review policies and procedures and we have determined how the rest of the baseball and softball seasons will be regulated.

The primary goal of UTSA Athletics is to strive for excellence at all athletics events. We want to create the best possible game atmosphere at baseball and softball and accommodate our fans, but we must operate under UTSA, University of Texas System and State of Texas laws.

All policies below are for the 2017 season and all policies and procedures to continue to improve fan accommodations are subject to change.

Gates Open
Gates will open one hour before first pitch is scheduled for baseball games and one hour prior to the start of softball contests.

Season tickets are $45 for both baseball and softball.

Single-game ticket pricing is $7 for adults, $5 for juniors (ages 3-18), seniors (ages 60+) & military.

Aramark will stop selling alcohol after the seventh inning at baseball and after the fifth inning at softball.

All coolers are subject to inspection by UTSA staff, police officers and/or hired security. Outside food for grilling, water, non-alcoholic beverages and ice are permitted inside of coolers. Alcohol is NOT permitted.

Grilling
The Berm (Baseball): For the 2018 season, UTSA Athletics now will provide two grills for fans to use on The Berm at the baseball facility. These grills are approved through university facilities policies on fire and safety. Fans can bring in charcoal, lighter fluid and/or other necessary grilling supplies for the remainder of the season.

Softball: For the 2018 season, UTSA Athletics now will provide a grill for fans to use behind the right-field fence at the softball complex. These grills are approved through university facilities policies on fire and safety. Fans can bring in charcoal, lighter fluid and/or other necessary grilling supplies for the remainder of the season.
