PLANO –UTSA junior pitcher Josh Ruffin (right) was named Aeropostale/Southland Conference Pitcher of the Week announced Monday by the conference.
The Humble, Texas native, pitched UTSA’s first solo two-hitter, as he went the distance for the second time this season in a 3-0 win at Lamar. On the year, he has two shutouts. Ruffin struck out seven Cardinal hitters and walked three. Ruffin leads the team in innings pitch with 45 and in wins with three.
The Roadrunners open a three-game set this weekend against SLC preseason favorite Northwestern State Demons at Roadrunner Field. Game one is set for a 3 p.m. start on March 24.
