Ellison earns spot on CSC Academic All-District Team

AUSTIN, Texas — UTSA sophomore Morgan Ellison has earned a spot on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Women's At-Large Team.

Ellison owns a perfect 4.0 cumulative GPA as a finance major and is the first UTSA women's golfer to earn academic all-district honors since Paola Valerio in 2011. The Peachtree City, Georgia, native has earned the Conference USA Commissioner's Academic Medal for a 3.75-or-higher GPA and has landed on the C-USA Honor Roll each year of her collegiate career. She has been named to the UTSA President's List following each semester and currently serves as Events Chair on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

On the course, Ellison registered a 75.36 stroke average and three top-20 finishes in 2022-23. She posted her top finish when she tied for 10th place at the Dale McNamara Invitational last fall after firing a 2-over-par 218 (75-69-74). She opened the campaign with a 219 (70-75-74) that earned her a share of 18th place at the "Mo"Morial Invitational and she closed out her second season with the Roadrunners by tying for 19th (76-79-77—232) at the C-USA Championship.

The 2023 Academic All-District® Women's At-Large Team, selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC), recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the athletic realm and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 21.
