SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. —UTSA senior Camryn Carreon matched her opening-round scorecard with a 2-over-par 74 on Saturday at Grayhawk Golf Club (par 72/6,384 yards).

After opening her second straight NCAA Championships appearance with a 74 on Friday, Carreon found herself in a tie for 66th place in the field of more than 150 of the nation's best collegiate golfers. She recorded a pair of birdies en route to turning in another 74, putting the San Antonio native in a tie for 77th.

Starting on No. 10, Carreon reeled off three pars in a row to set up a birdie on the 156-yard, par-3 13th hole. The San Antonio Regional champion posted three more pars before settling for a double bogey on No. 17 and bogey on the 18th for a 38 on the back nine.

Following another par on the first, Carreon wrote down her second birdie of the day with a three on the 360-yard second. She then registered six pars in a row and a bogey on the ninth for an even-par 36 on the front.

Carreon now has 25 pars and four birdies and has played the par fives at 1-under par through 36 holes.

Carreon is three shots out of the top 50 and is battling for a spot in the final round, needing to finish among the top nine individuals not on the top 15 advancing teams. She will tee off in round three from No. 10 at 10:22 a.m. CT Sunday.
