UTSA to head to Las Vegas for Rebel Beach

SAN ANTONIO — The UTSA women's golf team will travel to Las Vegas for the Rebel Beach Invitational, which will be contested on Monday-Tuesday, Feb. 15-16, at Spanish Trail Country Club (par 72/6,400 yards).

The Roadrunners will compete against BYU, Colorado State, Fresno State, Gonzaga, Grand Canyon, Iowa, Nevada, New Mexico, Northern Arizona, SMU, Tulsa and host UNLV in the two-day, 54-hole tournament. The field will play two rounds on Monday and the final round is slated for Tuesday with 10:30 a.m. CT shotgun starts scheduled for both days.

UTSA is coming off a runner-up showing at the Texas State Invitational last week in Kyle, Texas. Hannah Holzmann finished third with a career-best 8-under-par 208 (70-70-68), while Camryn Carreon and Nicole Polivchak placed fifth (74-69-69—212) and seventh (70-76-72—218), respectively, to lead the Roadrunners, who recorded a school-record 7-under 281 in the final round to nearly rally for the team title.

The Roadrunners have collected two straight Conference USA Golfer of the Week awards, as Holzmann was honored last week and Carreon picked up her first career honor on Feb. 4 after her strong showing in the season-opening Trinity Forest Invitational.
