Under the direction of Traylor, the 2021 Conference USA Coach of the Year, UTSA is coming off the most successful season in the 11-year history of the program. The Roadrunners finished with a 12-2 record — the most wins and top winning percentage (.857) in school annals — and captured their first conference title with a 49-41 victory over WKU in the C-USA Championship Game. UTSA was nationally ranked — as high as No. 15 — for the first time and concluded the campaign with its second straight and third overall bowl appearance against San Diego State in the Tropical Smoothie Café Frisco Bowl.

UTSA is set to kick off the 2022 season on Sept. 3 when it hosts Houston at the Alamodome. Following back-to-back road dates with Army on Sept. 10 and Texas on Sept. 17, the Roadrunners will conclude the non-conference slate at home against Texas Southern on Sept. 24.

The eight-game Conference USA schedule includes home contests against WKU (Oct. 8), North Texas (Oct. 22), Louisiana Tech (Nov. 12) and UTEP (Nov. 26), as well as road dates with Middle Tennessee (Oct. 1), FIU (Oct. 15), UAB (Nov. 5) and Rice (Nov. 19). The C-USA Championship Game is set for Friday, Dec. 2.
