SAN ANTONIO - The UTSA men’s and women’s track and field teams will open the 2005 outdoor season on Saturday, March 5, at the Trinity Invitational at E.M. Stevens Stadium, while five Roadrunners will travel to last chance indoor meets in Idaho and Iowa in hopes of improving their status for the NCAA Indoor Championships on March 11-12.
Juniors Brandon Buteaux and Ryanne Dupree and freshman Ashley Allen will compete in the multi-events (heptathlon/pentathlon) at the McDonald’s Last Chance Meet on Friday and Saturday in Moscow, Idaho. Senior Rosalind Holmes and sophomore Larry Brooks will look for improvements in the 200 and 800 meters, respectively, at Iowa State’s NCAA Qualifying Meet on Saturday at Lied Recreation Center in Ames, Iowa.
The Trinity Invitational will be held Saturday on the Trinity University campus with field events beginning at 9 a.m. and running events at 11:30 a.m. The UTSA women won the meet last year, scoring 205.5 points behind 10 individual and relay victories.
