SAN ANTONIO — UTSA head men’s golf coach John Knauer announced Tuesday that he has signed Brett Hogan (Willow Park, Alberta/Bishop O'Byrne HS) and J.J. Lindsey (Adkins, Texas) to National Letters of Intent. The pair will join the Roadrunners for the 2012-13 season.
“We are very excited about signing Brett and J.J.,” Knauer said. “Both are outstanding players who will make us a much deeper and stronger team next year. We don’t lose any seniors, so we are looking forward to adding them to our already maturing stable of players.”

San Antonio area product who was homeschooled … No. 1 ranked junior by Golf San Antonio … has posted five top-10 finishes in GolfWeek- and American Junior Golf Association-ranked tournaments … won the 2011 Greater San Antonio (GSA) Junior Match Play Championship, defeating five opponents in matches after firing a six-under 66 in the opening stroke-play round … carded a three-over 216 (76-70-70) at the 2011 GSA Junior Championship … won the 2011 U.S. Junior Amateur Qualifier at Briggs Ranch with a two-over 146 (74-72) … recorded a 153 (76-77) and missed the cut by just one stroke at the 2011 U.S. Junior Amateur in Bremerton, Wash. … finished seventh in a field of 94 players with a 221 (71-78-72) at the Texas Junior Golf Tour’s Holiday Classic in Austin … placed 10th with a 147 (75-72) at the 2011 U.S. Amateur Qualifier in a field of 60 players who mostly were current or former collegiate golfers.
