Women's golf to find out NCAA postseason destination on Wednesday

SAN ANTONIO — Fresh off winning the Conference USA Championship last week, UTSA will find out its postseason destination when the NCAA Division I Women's Golf Selection Show airs at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, on the Golf Channel.

The 90-minute television show will unveil the field for the four NCAA Regional sites in Austin (Texas), Madison (Wis.), San Francisco (Calif.) and Tallahassee (Fla.). Eighteen teams and six individuals not on those teams will compete at each regional on May 7-9.

The low six teams and low three individuals not on those teams from each regional will advance to the NCAA Championship Finals, which is slated for May 18-23 at Karsten Creek Golf Club in Stillwater, Okla.

UTSA captured its third overall and first C-USA title last week in Fort Myers, Fla. The Roadrunners carded an 874 to pull away from runner-up UTEP (887) and third-place Old Dominion (891).

Julie Houston and Ana Gonzalez finished 1-2 to lead the way. Houston fired a 4-under-par 212 (73-70-69) to claim her first league crown and third overall win, becoming the program's fourth conference medalist. Gonzalez posted a 3-under 213 (70-73-70) for her second runner-up showing of her freshman campaign.
