SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA women's tennis squad will kick off the 2017 fall season at the Contender Crossfit Islander Open in Corpus Christi. The three-day event, which features singles and doubles competition, begins Friday morning and is scheduled to wrap up on Sunday.
Head Coach Erin Scott returns six letter winners from last year's squad, while two freshmen – Sofie Boers and Ivana Ilic – joined the team this fall.
At last year's Islander Open, UTSA earned eight wins, including three by Diya Menon.
The Roadrunners will compete in five tournament this fall, including the ITA Texas Regional Championship Oct. 13-17 in Fort Worth.
