UTSA to hold first men's basketball practice on Friday

SAN ANTONIO — First-year head coach Steve Henson will lead his program in its first official practice in preparation for the 2016-17 season from 12:15-3 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 30 in the Convocation Center. All practices throughout the season are open to the media and public.

Guest parking is available to the public in the Ximenes Avenue Garage on the south side of the UTSA Main Campus. Pull a ticket upon entering the garage and you will receive a voucher valid for $4 flat-rate parking at practice. Simply present your ticket and voucher to a garage attendant when you leave to receive the special rate.

The Roadrunners welcome back 11 letterwinners from last year's squad including junior Christian Wilson, who averaged 16.8 points per game during the campaign and a team-high 18.8 in Conference USA action. In all, the squad returns four of its top five scorers, which includes Wilson, senior J.R. Harris, junior Gino Littles and senior Lucas O'Brien.

Henson also welcomes a total of six newcomers to the fold this season. Junior Jeff Beverly will be available after redshirting the 2015-16 campaign, while sophomore Bola Alade and freshmen Giovanni De Nicolao, Byron Frohnen, Mitar Stanojevic and George Willborn III are in their first season with the program.

UTSA will see its first action at 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 7 when it hosts Arkansas Tech in an exhibition game at the Convocation Center. Admission to the contest will be free.
